Fall, Caesar: Day I

Enter ASHTON, BEAU, DANEEKASGHOST, ESCHAPP, INKARNIT, MBNOVAK, NETTIEBARR, TODAHSHY, VIOLABENICE, a PIRATE, a MODERATOR, and certain other COMMONERS over the stage

ASHTON: Hence! Home, you idle creatures get you home!
Is this a holiday? What, know you not,
Being mechanical, you ought not walk
Upon a laboring day without the sign
Of your profession?โ€”Speak, what trade art thou?

MODERATOR: STOP THIS YOU ARE WASTING VALUEBALE GAME EXPLAINING TIME.

Fair enough.

Full rules are here. I think they’re pretty well written there, so let me summarize. Each day, you will try to assassinate someone who isn’t you. The trick is that those who are part of a successful assassination attempt will be the only ones vulnerable to the assassin’s blade the next day. Shenanigans abound.

Two quick other notes: the cards I gave you are your level of influence. stronger cards can influence weaker ones to do their bidding. Trick is, no one knows who has what. That, as they say, is why they play the game. There are limits to the number of times you can influence, but that’s why someone else wrote the rules.

Wine forces the game to come to a grinding halt until the person being served the wine makes a vote. This can get annoying in a online game, but we’ll do our best.

Both influence and wine go away after a certain point in the game.

Spreadsheet is here. Votes will be gathered there, as will cards, when they become known by influence or death. They will NOT be posted if you tell everyone what you have, even if you tell the truth.

One Last rule, but it’s important: conversation happens in the game thread and ONLY the game thread. If you want to ask me for a rule clarification on the side, or crack wise to me about how great your plan is going, that’s fine, but if you’re talking about the game away from here, it had better be to a person who is not playing the game.

RIVET has the wine card.

Here is the list of potential ex-caesars in contention:

  1. Spooky
    Inkarnit
    Todah
    Annette
    Ash
    Me

These are the good guys, right? So we should all use our influence to force people outside of this list to vote for other people outside of this list, right?

  2. How is it 11 already, oh right I’ve been setting up a windows server for the second straight day. Thinner crowd than I expected for such a fun game.

I’m not in an alliance but it seems to be todahshy is right re wine usage.

  3. Voting Update!

    Ashton
    Beau
    Daneekasghost voting mbnovak
    Dread Pirate – 3 – voting mbnovak
    eschapp
    inkarnit voting Dread Pirate
    mbnovak – 2
    nettiebarr
    Spookymilk voting Dread Pirate
    Todahshy
    Violabenice voting Dread Pirate

    Majority is 6.

    • So the smart play here is for two someones to throw votes on not me or Will. I’m cool with that, even if it’s Mourning Aw Wells doing it.

  4. Alright, I’m gone for a bit, with only occasional check-ins. One more vote on anyone but novak seals this deal. So if someone does that, just talk among yourselves, I guess. There’s no “night” per se, but the next forum won’t be open for business until 9:00am, tomorrow morning.

    • There isn’t going to be, obviously, but in that case, Pete would go through players according to their power and ask if they want to break the tie. If they do, then their target dies. However:

      1) The decider is in power, whether they were before the tiebreak vote or not and
      2) Their card is exposed. So, calculated risk.
